Welcome to St James, a lively Anglican church in the market town of Selby, North Yorkshire.

St James church sits comfortably on the evangelical wing of the Church of England and has been described as “gently charismatic”.
Our ministry is to all ages and backgrounds. We are blessed to have a small but thriving Junior Church, many families worshipping together and a ministry to the more elderly and infirm in various nursing homes and community centres.
Undoubtedly one of the strengths of St James is its variety and style of worship. Others include its bible based teaching, the genuine commitment of its congregation both in time and financially, and the team approach that encourages as many as possible to contribute to the life and working of the church.
For some time we have been conscious of the need to “get out of the boat” and to reach out into the community. We are starting to do this with the advent of the Edge Project. (Click on the page above to find out more.)
We hope that you find our recently created (and still evolving!) website useful. If you would like more details about our church, our services or what we do please e-mail:
